This site contains a few examples of INTACTA.CODE, as well as a special reader, that allows you to read the code (either by providing it with the BMP image, or by scanning it in!)

What is INTACTA.CODE?

INTACTA.CODE is a technology that allows one to effectively, store data on a piece of paper!.

INTACTA.CODE is a technology very similar to the popular QR Code and Datamatrix technologies. It allows you to store data (Pictures, Word Documents, PDFs, MP3, etc.) on a barcode.

Follow the links on the side to get to the free reader program, and sample files

Why is this site "Unofficial"?

Simply because, I am not in anyway connected with INTACTA Technologies.

I was first made aware of INTACTA.CODE in the spring of 2000 when it was featured on BBC's "Tomorrow's World.", back then you could go onto either the Tomorrow's World site, or the INTACTA site (www.intacta.com) and download the free reader from there. Sadly, the BBC axed Tomorrow's World, and INTACTA changed their website, meaning it was no longer possible to obtain the free reader program.

So, what's the point?

To spread the word about INTACTA.CODE! The good news is, INTACTA.CODE was a minor success in Japan, and Fujitsu, at one point, included an INTACTA.CODE reader with their PCs...

I found a copy of this program (thanks to the archive.org wayback machine!) and thanks to a combination of Resource Hacker, and the big 3 in online translation (Google, Babel Fish, and SDL Free Translator), I was able to translate the reader tool, for use by English language users (though I was in a rush to get it complete for a project, so some of it is in pidgin English (Engrish))!
